Benefit BADgal Waterproof Eyeliner/Lancome Le Crayon Kohl

My mum first bought me an eyeliner for my 13th birthday after I came down for school one day with just the inside of my eyes rimmed in black eyeliner and looked ridiculous so she took me to the Dior counter where they showed me not to do that and bought me the Dior Waterproof eyeliner pencil.

Since then it's been sort of traditional for my mum to buy me high end eyeliners because an eyeliner lasts for honestly ages and it's one of the things I use pretty much everyday.

A few christmases ago I replaced it with Lancome Le Crayon Kohl which I have a love/hate relationship with right now. It gives a really soft look and it does fade throughout the day, however I've decided that I quite like the way it goes a really subtle black but it's not really suitable for an eyeliner that'll take you through the day till the evening.

Last christmas my sister got me a Benefit set with the BADgal Mascara and Waterproof Pencil and it was instant love for me! It's the creamiest formula and literally glides on so smooth and it really is 'extra black'. It's also got insane staying power...I mean you can shower with this on and have pretty much no movement of it which is so impressive.

Yesterday I had my prom and I got my makeup done at Benefit which I wasn't actually that impressed with but I repurchased this eyeliner even though I've still got quite a bit left because I love it that much! I thoroughly recommend this for anyone who's fed up of really hard pencil eyeliners that don't stay on and at £15.00 it is up the top end of eyeliner prices but it'll last for ages! The pencil also comes with a smudger on the other end which has proved really useful!

Just a side note - Benefit used to sell the BADgal Liner which was a thick eyeliner and it was an awful product for me personally so don't judge the waterproof one by the original which you may have had a sample of as I remember having loads and I hated it!

Everyday Makeup

I decided to fully recreate my everyday makeup mainly for my own fun.

Firstly, no make up below and my beaut hair which actually doesn't change during this so pleaseee ignore it...

First I used Bourjois Bronzing Primer which evens out my skin and provides a nice base. I do like this product but £10 for such a small pot is a lot and I'll definitely use this up over my 3 week holiday.

Secondly I used Bare Minerals eye shadow in Celestine all over my lids using Models Own Blending Brush and then Lancome Le Crayon Kohl in 01 Noir halfway across my eyes. I never reaaally do full eyeliner anymore as it can make my eyes look so small. This eyeliners okay but not amazing for a high end product. It does fade quite a lot over the day but I actually quite like the look it gives.. a sort of charcoal grey by the end of a full day. It's quite a smooth nice formula but Benefit Badgal Waterproof is a much better eyeliner to spend money on.

I then fill in my eyebrows with (my sisters) Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in 61 Saddle which is what the MUA did and it's actually a really nice shade for dark eyebrows because you don't want to use anything too dark because it'll be so harsh. In the photo below I've done my left eyebrow and not my right (the one on the otherside to the eyeshadow!) and you can see how much more defined it is. I use Models Own Angled Brush to do this as you can get such a precise line although I think it's originally for eyeliner. (Excuse my nails, I have work tomorrow so no point repainting because I can't wear nail varnish!)

Both eyebrows done below and foundation's on in the picture above and below. I used Maybelline Dream Creamy foundation in 48 Sun Beige and Constance Carroll Silk Finishing Powder in 3 Beige. I've reviewed both previously. 

Then I used Benefit Erase Paste in 2 Medium and MAC Select Moisture Cover in NC30. As you can see I have those reeeallly annoying lines that I can't describe and I can't find anything that will cover them, especially in photos so help! I used Japonesque Travel Concealer Brush 910 to apply.

I've also used Primark Lashful Mascara on my top lashes and The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara on my bottom lashes.

On my cheeks I've used Sleek Glisten Me Illuminator in Goddess and Rimmel 3 in 1 Blush in Winter Glow applied with Ruby and Millie Face Brush.

Lastly I've used MAC Matte Lipstick in Viva Glam III which I also recently blogged about!

Moisturising Routine

I've mentioned before that my skin gets quite dry and since using these products it's been so so much better. I've been using them both but I'm 90% sure it's the Garnier Moisture Match that's been making the difference.
I got a sample of 3 of these moisturisers and I pretty much went straight for the one designed for dry to very dry skin and I actually threw away the one for oily/combination skin before even seeing what the texture was like which I regret now but I love this one so much! (and it's the pink one yay) The yellow one for normal skin isn't as thick or rich as this one which some might prefer and it has SPF 20 which is definitely a bonus and I'm thinking of getting that one as well.

There's a blue one for normal/dry skin which I haven't tried as well as the green one for combination/oily skin which is oil-free and designed to mattify and looks like more of a sorbet texture, and an orange one for dull skin which is actually a gel so I'd definitely be interested to try that.

The pink one I have is a very rich cream but it's not greasy at all and sinks in so nicely but makes my skin honestly so soft. I actually couldn't stop touching it when I first put it on!
I was reluctant to buy this at first because £5.99 on a moisturiser still seems a lot to me but the Simple Rich Moisturiser one I was been using wasn't making any difference.

I'd highly recommend this and I'm guessing the others will be just as good for different skin types. It comes in a 50ml tube which isn't that much product but it does go a long way and it is only £5.99 at Boots and buy 1 get one free on Garnier skin care at the moment which is a great offer because I use their Soft Essentials Cleansing Lotion and Toner in Rose at the moment which is also for dry skin and I really like them and they're only £3.49/£3.15. It looks like they've changed the name to Clean & Soft online but I'm pretty sure the formula's the same.

I've also been using Boots Vitamin E night cream which isn't as thick or rich as the Garnier cream because it's for all skin types but it smells so lush so even if it's not doing as much I'll still use it! I slather it on thick for night and just let it sink in.

Writing this post I've realised that I actually really like Garnier face products and I haven't been disappointed so far! I used to use the Cleansing Lotion in grape and I liked that just as much! They really do get off all makeup yet they feel like a moisturiser not a makeup remover.

The BEST Makeup Wipes you will ever use

So I'd seen these in Superdrug for a bit cheaper than usual makeup wipes (which are such a rip off) but since I use liquid makeup remover I didn't pick them up even though the idea of Kleenex beauty products was intriguing.

I then saw these in Poundland/99p store and grabbed them since they were so cheap, a brand I had actually heard of and I tend to take them to friends houses to use after a night out when I don't feel like blinding myself with makeup remover which I definitely do too often.
I can't even explain how soft these are..they're literally like tissue softness (duh, they're Kleenex) but they get off all makeup. My friends don't even bring round makeup remover anymore...they just wait for me to bring mine aha.

I went to Poundland and 99p store today and they didn't have a great beauty selection although Poundland did have Herbal Essences Hair Masks in Straight/for Coloured hair and I picked the straight one up because I do straighten my hair quite a bit and I've used them before and I liked them, I just wish they had had the curly one but for £1 who's complaining!
Anyway they didn't have any left in Poundland of the wipes or the facial cloths which I liked to use for my toner but luckily I grabbed THE LAST PACK in the 99p store which I'm actually quite disappointed about because I wanted to buy like 5 packs...

They sell these at Superdrug for £2.99 which is still a bargain and I would happily pay that for these wipes. They also sell the cloths for £1.99 and eye makeup remover wipes for £2.99 which I didn't pick up before because I just use the big ones for my eyes as well rather than having to bring 2 separate packets. Lastly they sell shine absorbing sheets as £2.99 as well which I'm not able to comment on since my skin isn't really oily but I'm sure they're good quality, let me know if you've tried these or any of the other things in the line! I can imagine these just disappearing from Superdrug so I'm planning on stocking up if I see them!
Kleenex Facial Cleansing Wipes

False Eyelashes

For me, false eyelashes are a necessity for going out. I would rather wear false eyelashes than any other make up as you instantly look like you've made an effort when you put them on.
It used to take me hours to put on false eyelashes but I can do it in about 5/10 minutes now...practice definitely is the only way to learn how to put them on! If you've never tried them then you can for 99p + £2 glue and you'll have 10 pairs to play with!

I used to go to Boots and spend £5+ on a pair of false eyelashes and then rip them off when I got home and leave them wherever so I could never use them again!
I then started buying them from poundland where you could get 1/2 for £1 (obviously) but they didn't always have the style I liked.
Then I discovered on Ebay you can order 10 whole pairs for 99p...... they have an insane amount of different styles and it'll probably take you a few orders to get a style you stick with but they're so cheap it really doesn't matter!

I now never reuse any eyelashes which is probably more hygienic and way less pressure on my not completely sober self to put them back in the box!
I never use the glue that comes with any cheap eyelashes as it's honestly so rubbish and I stick to the Eyelure glue which you can find here on Asos for £2 - Eylure Lashfix Adhesive. 
I cannot stress enough DO NOT GET THE INDIVIDUAL FALSE EYELASH GLUE! It's clear but it has the strongest smell I have ever smelt on an eyelash glue or any product that goes on your face and it stung my eyes as well and a lot of people on Amazon agree. This is coming from someone who's never had an allergic reaction (yet) and doesn't have sensitive eyes.

Obviously as with anything from China they do take a while to come but they're just as good as regular Eyelure or other makes, just make sure you bend them to fit the shape of your eye first as they can be quite stiff and won't stick if you don't! 
I buy from this seller but there's loads and loads of people selling them. I get style 022 which is quite a simple, long style and they get longer towards the outside of the eyes - 10 Pairs of False Eyelashes

Waterproof Eyes Test

I conducted a highly scientific experiment using Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara which is on sale for £2.50 at Fragrance Direct which you're probably sick of hearing about down from £5.29 which is still quite reasonable at Superdrug if you prefer not to buy online, and Miss Sporty Pump Up 24H Booster Eye Liner in Waterproof which I can't find online but I bought it recently in Boots for under £3. I usually avoid buying from brands like Miss Sporty, Collection 2000 etc because I always think that for that price they're not going to work which isn't true for the majority of them and I prefer to have nicer brands in my makeup bag which is really shameful and snobby of me!

Anyway, I put these on different eyes after removing all my other makeup and any traces of my non waterproof mascara which I'd been wearing and got into the shower to wash my hair and I was so impressed. I got out the shower and neither had even smudged under my eyes and I feel so much more confident about wearing these on the beach without having black running down my face!

I've only tried the waterproof mascara for that brief period of time and yes, it's not the best mascara and I knew that when I splashed (get it) a massive £2.50 on it and the fact that it's name is not Millionize Billionize Trillionize Waterproof mascara but 100% Waterproof Mascara seemed to suggest that it's main pro is that it's waterproof. The mascara claims to lengthen and build lashes but when I put it on it obviously wasn't the best mascara I'd ever used but it does the job and I'd definitely recommend it for a waterproof mascara but probably not an everyday use!

Rimmel 100% Waterproof ...

I wore the Miss Sporty liquid eyeliner for a day and application is so easy because it's sponge tip rather than a brush which I will definitely look out for when buying another liquid eyeliner because they're so much better to use. However, although it dries really glossy and black, by the end of the day some of it had flaked off so I wouldn't recommend this for all day use, probably more evenings and going out, however for under £3 it's an easy eyeliner that is waterproof!
